Product Description: CoAprovel is a combination of two active substances, irbesartan and hydrochlorothiazide. It is used to treat high blood pressure when treatment with irbesartan and hydrochlorothiazide alone does not provide adequate control of the blood pressure. Details: Irbesartan belongs to a group of medicines known as angiotensin ll receptor antagonists. Angiotensin ll is a substance produced in the body which causes blood vessels to tighten, thus increasing the blood pressure. Irbesartan blocks the effect of angiotensin ll so that the blood vessels relax, thus lowering the blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide belongs to gorup of medicines known as thiazide diuretics.
