HISTAN 4 mg Tablets – 20 Tablets Active Ingredient: Chlorpheniramine Maleate 4 mg Therapeutic Class: Antihistamine – First GenerationDescription: HISTAN contains chlorpheniramine, a first-generation antihistamine used to relieve symptoms of allergies such as sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes, and itching. It works by blocking histamine (a substance in the body that causes allergic symptoms).Indications: Allergic rhinitis (hay fever) Urticaria (hives) and other allergic skin conditions Common cold symptoms Allergic reactions to insect bites or food Dosage: Adults: 4 mg every 4–6 hours as needed (max 24 mg/day) Should be taken with or without food and with plenty of fluids Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to chlorpheniramine Severe hypertension or coronary artery disease Use in newborns or breastfeeding mothers Warnings: May cause drowsiness—avoid driving or operating machinery Caution in patients with asthma, glaucoma, prostate enlargement Not recommended during pregnancy unless advised by a doctor Side Effects: Drowsiness Dry mouth Dizziness Nausea Storage: Store below 30°C in a dry place, away from moisture and sunlight.
