 Janumet XR 50/1000 mg Prolonged-Release Tablets Active Ingredients: Sitagliptin 50 mg, Metformin Hydrochloride 1000 mg Pack Size: 56 Tablets Therapeutic Class: Oral Antidiabetic – DPP-4 Inhibitor + BiguanideDescription: Janumet XR combines sitagliptin, a DPP-4 inhibitor, and metformin, a biguanide, to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Sitagliptin enhances the body’s own ability to lower blood glucose by increasing incretin levels. Metformin reduces glucose production in the liver and improves insulin sensitivity.Indications: For adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus to improve blood sugar control alongside diet and exercise. Suitable for monotherapy or as part of a combination therapy regimen. Dosage and Administration: Typical dose: One tablet once daily with the evening meal. Tablets must be swallowed whole with water; do not split, crush, or chew. Adjust dosage based on patient’s glycemic response and renal function. Maximum daily dose: sitagliptin 100 mg and metformin 2000 mg.
