 TWYNSTA 80 mg / 5 mg Tablets (28 Tablets) Active Ingredients: Telmisartan 80 mg – Angiotensin II Receptor Blocker (ARB) Amlodipine Besylate 5 mg – Calcium Channel Blocker (Dihydropyridine class) Therapeutic Class: Antihypertensive combination Dosage Form: Oral tablet Indications:TWYNSTA is indicated for the treatment of: Essential hypertension in adult patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled by telmisartan or amlodipine monotherapy Cardiovascular risk reduction in patients at risk of heart disease with high blood pressure Mechanism of Action: Telmisartan blocks the angiotensin II type 1 (AT1) receptor, preventing vasoconstriction and aldosterone release, thus lowering blood pressure Amlodipine inhibits calcium ion influx into vascular smooth muscle, causing vasodilation and reduced peripheral resistance Together, they provide a synergistic blood pressure-lowering effect by acting on complementary mechanisms.Dosage and Administration: Recommended dose: One tablet once daily Should be taken at the same time each day, with or without food Not recommended as initial therapy — indicated when monotherapy is insufficient Warnings and Precautions: Contraindicated in pregnancy (especially 2nd and 3rd trimesters) Caution in patients with renal or hepatic impairment, heart failure, or volume depletion Monitor blood pressure, renal function, and electrolytes during treatment Side Effects:Common: dizziness, peripheral edema, flushing, fatigue, hypotension Less common: back pain, increased heart rate, nausea, rash, elevated potassiumStorage: Store below 30°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture.
