XIGDUO XR 5/500 mg Prolonged-Release Tablets Active Ingredients: Dapagliflozin 5 mg, Metformin Hydrochloride 500 mg Pack Size: 30 Tablets Therapeutic Class: Oral Antidiabetic – SGLT2 Inhibitor + BiguanideDescription: XIGDUO XR is a combination antidiabetic medication that contains dapagliflozin, an SGLT2 inhibitor, and metformin, a biguanide. It helps control blood glucose levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus by reducing glucose reabsorption in the kidneys and decreasing hepatic glucose production.Indications: For adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus to improve glycemic control when diet and exercise are insufficient. May be used alone or in combination with other antidiabetic medications. Also beneficial in patients with established cardiovascular disease or high cardiovascular risk. Dosage and Administration: Recommended starting dose: one tablet once daily with food to reduce gastrointestinal side effects. Dosage may be adjusted based on the patient's clinical condition and renal function. Do not crush, chew, or split the tablet. Maximum daily dose: dapagliflozin 10 mg and metformin 2000 mg.
